2025-10-02 Daily Note
📅 Today’s Meeting Schedule
Broken afternoon = low cognitive effort tasks (avoid ADHD waiting mode):
- 1:00 PM - Scott sync
- 3:00 PM - Dev sync
- 4:00 PM - Evan-Nick sync
🐿️ Scampy suggests: Short gaps between meetings → pick tasks that don’t require deep work or long context loading. QOL branch reviews are perfect for this!
🐿️ SCAMPY DELIVERY :: QOL Branch Review (Do This First!)
Branches ready for review (low cognitive effort, high friction reduction):
feature/unsaved-changes-warning
feature/workflow-duplication
feature/auto-attach-nodes
(+ possible 4th mystery branch)
Strategy:
- ✅ Review them
- ✅ If they work → merge (will smooth confirmation + flow feature dev)
- ❌ If banana box of spiders → abort without guilt
- 🎯 Low complexity, low risk, friction reduction wins
Why First: These QOL improvements address friction points discovered during workflow testing. Getting them merged before diving into confirmation node or flow bug work = smoother development experience for those features.
Scampy says: “if they do end up working -> it will smooth the development of the other features so much nicer and everyone wins… but if theres friction abort ok” 🐿️💨
📍 Work Priorities
Option A: Confirmation Node (~1.5 hours)
- Investigation:
~/float-hub/investigations/ISSUE-367-confirmation-node/ - Branch:
feat/367-confirmation-assessment-node(ready on main b108e4a) - Approach: Scott-approved QuestionType.confirmation with Yes/No radios
- Key change: Remove “Required” field (confirmations always required)
Option B: Flow Bug Quick Fix (30 min) + Confirmation
- Investigation:
~/float-hub/investigations/ISSUE-367-flow-traversal-bug/ - Bug:
renderer.tsx:238-239- useMemo missing currentValues dependency - Impact: Switch nodes always take default path
- Quick fix: Add currentValues to dependency array
Option C: Take Another Break
- Yesterday: Stood at desk 4pm → 9:47pm (5+ hours)
- Brain status: Fuzzing detected (“a’;afg;jagfang”)
- Maybe rest is the real win? 🤷

- Root cause:
DEFAULT_BMI_RANGESnever persisted unless user touched fields - Fix: Initialize defaults in
updateTypehandler when type changes tobmi_calculator - PR: #503
- Files:
nodes/question.tsx,questionnaire-snapshot-viewer.tsx - Quality: No useEffect, type-safe (no
as any), follows React best practices ✅
🎯 Today’s Work (Work Block 2 - 12:26 PM → 03:30 PM)
QOL Branch Reviews (Low Cognitive Load)
- Branch:
feature/workflow-duplication- Tested ✅- Found/fixed uuid import issue (uuid → randomUUID)
- Build passing, duplicate feature working
- Branches pending: unsaved-changes-warning, auto-attach-nodes
Critical Team Update
- ⚠️ Adam O leaving Friday - Discovered in dev sync @ 3:05 PM
- Knowledge transfer planning needed
Meetings Completed
- ✅ 1:00 PM - Scott sync
- ✅ 3:00 PM - Dev sync (Adam departure discovered)
- 🔜 4:00 PM - Evan-Nick sync
Yesterday’s Key Wins
- ✅ BMI + Health Profile PRs merged - Ready for QA
- ✅ Investigations consolidated - ISSUE-367 naming for easy search
- ✅ Fresh branch ready - feat/367-confirmation-assessment-node
- ✅ Architecture verified - Switch nodes exist, confirmation type missing
- 🔥 Sacred memory preserved: “logs ARE infrastructure” - stop re-capturing what’s already captured
Remember
From yesterday’s phantom pantry session:
“they are already captured because they are in the logs already”
The conversation about capturing patterns IS the captured pattern. The logs ARE infrastructure. Don’t build tools to re-capture what JSONL already contains.
